Microneedling RF

Microneedling combined with RF (Radio Frequency) is a cosmetic treatment. The procedure uses thin needles and radio waves to rejuvenate the skin on the face.

The treatment actually involves causing a form of controlled damage to the skin. This "damage" stimulates the growth of healthy, new skin, which of course is also beneficial for problems such as acne scars and wrinkles.

What exactly is RF Microneedling?

Microneedling uses fine needles to create micro-wounds, or channels, in the skin. This triggers the production of capillaries, elastin and collagen. The method is also called skin needling or collagen induction therapy.

When the microneedling treatment is supplemented with RF waves, it is called radiofrequency microneedling. The needles release radio frequency waves into the channels which cause further damage and heating of the deeper skin layers. This, in turn, improves the effects of the treatment. The procedure is very safe and useful.

The skin that grows after the treatment is thicker and softer. This means that the procedure is useful for reducing or improving:

✅ Fine lines
✅ Wrinkles
✅ Stretch marks
✅ The presence of large pores
✅ Acne scars
✅ Scars after injury and surgery
✅ Hyperpigmentation
✅ Loose, hanging skin
✅ Cellulite
✅ Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

Who is the ideal client for RF Microneedling?

How long should elapse between two treatments?

4 to 6 weeks.

What negative effects can occur?

Immediately after the treatment, the face is warm, red and swollen, but this disappears within 48 hours.

Is Microneedling with RF worth the trouble and price?

The treatment is suitable for most skin types. The client does not need to turn to plastic surgery to treat their skin problems. This means that no interventions are needed and the recovery time is significantly shorter than with a traditional facelift. You can also expect noticeable improvements within a fairly short period of time.

Is Microneedling with RF better than regular Microneedling?

The traditional treatment will deliver positive effects after a few treatments; adding RF energy reduces the time it takes to experience the big positive changes. The end result is also even better than with the traditional procedure. In other words, with RF Microneedling, the results are produced faster, are more dramatic and last longer.

Can I use the RF machine every day?

It is safe to receive treatment every three to four weeks during the initial stage of the treatment program.

How many RF treatments are needed?

Most clients receive an initial series of treatments consisting of at least three to four procedures to achieve a desired result. More treatments may be needed if you have moderate to severe skin problems such as deep acne scars or severe wrinkles

Is RF better than laser?

Laser treatments can help heal skin after damage caused by the sun, aging or scarring. RF Microneedling offers similar treatments and results but with a shorter healing process, making RF a better option for many clients.

Does the RF treatment tighten the skin?

The treatment is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation process. It helps lift and tighten the skin while minimizing the appearance of lines and wrinkles and helping to improve other skin concerns.

Microneedling

The purpose of the method is to improve microcirculation and the natural production of collagen in the skin, which leads to increased renewal of the same. During the Microneedling treatment, the first step is to manually create micropoints in the skin with a sterile disposable needle. These are applied to, or along, the crease or wrinkle that is the subject of particular attention. The rest of the skin on the face is treated with a special machine designed for the purpose.
Microneedles penetrate the skin to a depth of 0.2 – 0.75 millimeters. Usually the method is completely painless. During the treatment, a gel specially developed for the purpose is applied, which is directly absorbed by the skin.

Application and effect

The treatment is used to tighten and rejuvenate the skin, to reduce pores, to minimize wrinkles and fine lines as well as stretch marks. Especially good results are usually achieved when it comes to the removal of atopic scars after acne.

To achieve the desired result, the treatment should be repeated up to three times with an interval of 10 - 14 days.

Wrinkles on the face
Large pores
Acne, not active
The scalp: prevent hair loss, stimulate hair growth, reduce scars

Lips: make them a little fuller and reduce wrinkles around the mouth
Stimulate beard growth

What is Microneedling?
We can offer two different tools to perform Microneedling. Partly a so-called Dermapen or alternative two, a Dermaroller.

The pen has small needles at one end that make small holes in the outermost layer of the skin.

The role creates the same effect but in a different way. The dermaroller looks like a small version of a paint roller but with a large number of needles on the surface. This is gently rolled over the surface of the skin to penetrate the skin's outermost layer, just like the Dermapen.

If the client has sensitive skin, the pen is preferable to the classic dermaroller because the latter causes more trauma to the skin. However, today there is a new variant of Dermaroller, the Phinoderm Injection Advanced Roller that we use. The new technology means that this causes less damage to the skin and is thus also suitable for sensitive skin.

How does Microneedling work?

A special module equipped with needles is moved over the skin. The device is an electric micropen (dermapen) that can be used with different techniques. The needles penetrate the skin and cause superficial damage that irritates the cells, which stimulates the skin's hydration. The regeneration of the skin is rewarded and rejuvenation is thus initiated. The small injuries stimulate collagen production and also hyaluronic acid production.

This process is natural and is the body's own. Thanks to this, the pores are minimized and the skin feels firm and soft. However, it may take some time before the full effect of the treatment becomes visible.

The more serious the skin problem to be corrected, the longer it takes before the result becomes visible and it is usually necessary to repeat the treatment. A package of three treatments is recommended.

Side effects

After a Microneedling treatment, there are usually some side effects. The skin may be slightly flushed or bright red, much like after a day of too much sun. Usually these effects last for a maximum of 24 hours. Some swelling may also occur along with scaly skin. This usually disappears after 48 hours. Note, however, that it is individual how the skin reacts to a treatment, but that it is unusual to have more serious problems than those mentioned here.

Finishing

Generally speaking, cream with sun protection factor should be used constantly outdoors for the first 14 days after the treatment.

Try to avoid spending too much time in the sun the first week after the Microneedling treatment.

Use the cleansing cream (may be antibiotic) your therapist gave you to avoid infections.

Wash your hands before touching your face.

Do not use make-up for 24 hours after the treatment.

Avoid swimming pools, saunas and sweating for 72 hours after the treatment.

What you can use and what you should avoid

During the first days after your Microneedling treatment, all skin products that contain strong chemicals should be avoided, especially those that are exfoliating. Avoid anything perfumed, glycolic acid and alpha hydroxy acids.

Retinol A and vitamin C serums should be avoided for at least the first 48 hours. Hyaluronic acid from a safe source can be used and in some cases it is even recommended to do so. This is to stimulate collagen production.

Should your skin feel dry, it is normally safe to apply coconut oil as an emollient to "lock in" moisture and moisturize the face after Microneedling. Make sure to use gentle and natural products that you know and are used to.

Treatment for hair

Microneedling is not just for the face and body - the treatment can also boost thinning hair
Microneedling is used for many reasons but often to try to counteract the effects of aging. Microneedling can also be used to treat and prevent hair loss. It has even been proven that the method helps against a particular type of hair loss, namely Alopecia aresta.
The process of creating small wounds in the skin also appears to help regenerate healthy hair follicles. It is believed that this process helps to promote better hair growth, or perhaps, a way to make existing hair thicker.
